AAEC South Mountain FFA Students Celebrate Success at Estrella District CDEs

We have some exciting news to share with everyone in the form of results from our students’ competitions at the Estrella District CDEs!

AAEC South Mountain attended the Estrella FFA District Spring CDEs at Buckeye Union High School on Wednesday, February 6th. Students competed against fifteen different Arizona high schools bringing approximately 200 competing freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors in Aquaculture, Horse Evaluation, Job Interview, Nursery/Landscape, and Vet Science.

Aquaculture
A. Hennigan (Sophomore)
3rd Place Individual out of 24 competitors

Horse Judging
C. Miller (Junior), L. Hardiman (Junior), D. Ceniceros (Junior), and L. Guerrero (Freshman)
1st in the Estrella District out of eight schools
1st All Contest out of fifteen schools

D. Ceniceros (Junior)
1st in the Estrella District out of eight schools
1st All Contest out of forty-four competitors

L. Hardiman (Junior)
2nd in the Estrella District out of eight schools
2nd All Contest out of forty-four competitors

L. Guerro (Sophomore)
3rd in the Estrella District out of eight schools
3rd All Contest out of forty-four competitors

Job Interview
J. Peralta (Senior)
1st in the Job Interview out of eleven competitors

Nursery Landscape
2nd in the Estrella District out of eight schools
E. Roman (Junior), H. Martinez (Junior), P. Cooper (Senior), and E. Caro (Freshman)

E. Caro (Freshman)
4th Place Individual out of 18 contestants

The Vet Science Team – T. Flores (Senior), J. Hurtado (Freshman), A. Canez (Freshman) and A. Celaya Escalante(Freshman) did a great job as well in a very tough contest put on by our very own Dr. Dean Rice.

Thank you so much for all of your help and support. The success of our kids, our AgriScience program, and our FFA chapter are thanks in big part to all of you. Please celebrate with these students and congratulate them as you see them around campus this week!
